Solid State Rectifier Direct plug-in replacement for 5AR4, 5U4 and 5Y3 rectifier vacuum tubes in amplifiers with center tapped secondary power transformer. Use when less 'sag' is desired in the power supply; just switch back to the tube rectifier when 'sag' is desired.
Tech's notes: "When using solid state rectification, the rectifier passes high voltage immediately to the power tubes as soon as the amp is turned on. This can degrade the life of your power tubes! Best practice is to include a standby switch, and use it. Let the amp sit in standby for up to a minute before you switch it completely on to prolong the life of your power tubes."

I have been reading a lot about tube rectifiers And the difference between solid states. Specifically A Modification that Stevie Ray Vaughan used to do with old are super reverb’s. I’ve noticed less sag and an old 1964 super reverb. It’s a great way to tighten up the app. Make sure you get a professional Tobias your tubes and new solid-state rectifier before install.
