Tech's notes: "Alpha pots provide the best value for your dollar in a guitar pot. We had these custom manufactured to a slightly lower torque. The result is a quick but smooth turning feel. Not as tight as a CTS pot, but not as loose as a Bourns pot. These provide what we feel is a good medium between the two. We also had them made to a taper that we feel is better suited to guitar use than the standard audio taper used by CTS and Bourns."

Can Keep His Original Knobs
This is an unusual potentiometer in that it has an american bushing with a metric shaft. I used these to replace a customer's 48 year old Ibanez potentiometers which had finally worn out. The original holes were 8 mm so I enlarged them with a 23/64 inch drill bit and then reamed the hole to a precise 3/8 inch; and the new potentiometers fit perfectly. The customer is a "happy camper" because he could keep using his Ibanez "Sure-Grip" knobs which he says are the best knobs he's ever used. He says though that the turning resistance on these new potentiometers is "quite light" and takes some getting used to compared to the previous ones.

Alpha pot
Works perfectly. Very smooth. Good price. Some guitar pots have a lot of resistance to movement, like the bridge tone pot on my American Strat. There was no option to order pots with more resistance to movement as far as I know.

Alpha 18 spline pots feel great, sound great
During a recent upgrade of a MIJ Tele, I decided to switch out the 3 way and both tone controls. I am happy with these custom NextGen Alpha 250 k pots. Great feel and easy to soler into place. If you do decide to swap out MIJ pots, keep in mind they are smaller than those used standard MIM and US guitars and the control plate will have to be drilled out or swapped out!

Great Service
I ordered some 500K and a variety of other bits and bobs for amp repair and guitar upgrades. Pots are great, but his reviews is really about the nice packaging, quick service and delivery from NextGen. Thank you. I'm a fan folks!

Just fine, no better
They're exactly what you would expect, and for $3 you can't go wrong. The tolerance seems to be about +/- 10% so if you want a matched set order more than you need just to be sure. They operate without noise and have a reasonable feel to them. Great value for good pots.
