Gotoh 510UB - Wraparound Bridge (choose finish)

I had purchased a used Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Les Paul Jr and the previous owner installed a USA LP Jr wrap around bridge that would not intonate properly. I replaced it with a Wilkinson 52mm (2-3/64 inch) String Spacing Adjustable Pigtail Style Wraparound Bridge that I could intonate but had string breaking and dead string issues with. I purchased the GOTOH 510UB and could not be happier. It installed in minutes and was already setup for perfect intonation from the factory. Very comfortable to rest the hand on as well. Not a drop-in replacement for my Yamaha Revstar 620 - I had to plug and redrill - but a big improvement. Somehow it came out of the box perfectly intonated (!). It also feels so nice to palm mute as it's very smooth and sturdy. Love it.

Sturdy bridge that sounds a feels great. However two small design issues to be aware of. First, the clips that hold the bridge to the posts are mounted underneath the bridge with a pair of small retaining screws. These screws prevents the bridge from lowering fully tight to the body if you need it to. On one installation I got the action low enough with the retaining clips installed and the other I had to remove the clips and screws to get the bridge low enough. And lastly, the string exit the bridge on the bottom (as opposed to the back) so replacing strings can be a pain if the bridge is tight to the body. Otherwise I feel these are the most solid and attractive wrap around bridges out there.

Great looking and solid, haven’t installed it although confident that it performs great.

This bridge feels great under the palm and is a drop in replacement for PRS SE wraparound bridges. When using the stock threaded inserts, it may be potentially difficult to get the bridge height really low, but for my application it was a perfect fit.
