PLEASE NOTE: Never bend the leads in such a way as to apply any stress to the casing. Always use a heat sink when soldering.

2 different types, 2 different results
I bought a bunch of these recently and found two types. One had an hfe of 260-280 the other was 600-700. For my application (Big Muff), the smaller font, straight leg kind with lower hfe were great, the larger font with B on them, higher hfe...not so much.

Was looking for a 2n5089 but this worked great as a substitution. Service was great, and the order was ready for pickup fast.
