Tech's notes: "Alpha pots provide the best value for your dollar in a guitar pot. We had these custom manufactured to a slightly lower torque. The result is a quick but smooth turning feel. Not as tight as a CTS pot, but not as loose as a Bourns pot. These provide what we feel is a good medium between the two. We also had them made to a custom audio taper that we feel is better suited to guitar use than the standard audio taper used by CTS and Bourns."
