Product Description
Carbon fiber exhibits so many of the qualities useful in fine instrument construction — namely, low weight, stiffness, stability, resistance to fatigue and creep. Its low weight and high stiffness makes it three times stiffer than steel on a weight-to-weight basis, 80% as stiff on a cross-sectional area comparison – offers many advantages to the guitar builder.
Neck reinforcement can be laminated in such a manner that the reinforcement continues through the peghead joint, reducing flex and therefore reducing energy loss to the head area.
Dimensions: 1/4" x 1/4" x 18 1/8" (6.35mm x 6.35mm x 460mm)
Generally used on electric guitars, banjos, and other mid-neck length instruments.

Carbon Fiber Rod
This is the lowest price I've found for carbon fiber rods and the 1/4" square shape has a lot of advantages. Takes the same 1/4" router bit I use for truss rods. 1/4" is shallow enough to not worry about making a thin neck, but is super rigid.
