Eminence Legend GB128 - 50W 8ohm

I ordered this speaker from Next Gen for my Traynor YCV Custom Valve combo amp to replace the crappy Celestion Rocket 50 that was in there...I researched the crap out of a multitude of speakers and read and listened to countless reviews of many many speaker options....and for my purpose and tone I was looking for, it kept coming back to the Eminence GB128. The price from Next Gen in Ontario beat out anything else on the entire internet, and the delivery time was awesome. The speaker was carefully double boxed and arrived unharmed. Installation was very easy and in no time I had the light weight Celestion Rocket out of the amp and this beauty buttoned in. WOW !!! my Canadian made amp was given a second life and was very pleased to welcome this American made speaker into the house. (see we can get along despite the political noise that's everywhere these days)........It transformed my combo amp from a noise maker to a music maker, and turned it into a little beast! I am blown away by the transformation, and the speaker isn't even broken in yet....Looking forward to taking the Traynor out to a few gigs to see the reaction from my fellow musicians...Truly a quality built speaker that is not built offshore like so many things these days...Highly Recommended !!

I have used these in several amps - a '52 Masco rebuild, a 35 watt homebrew, a BFDR clone, and a Hot Rod Deluxe, all with good results. Clean to dirty, the GB 128 does it all really well, and especially with the HRD - it cures the boomy bass and icepick treble of the stock speaker. At this price point, it can't be beat. The HRD owner wanted circuit mods to correct the tone problems but I suggested this swap first - no further action required, the amp now sounds great.

I put this speaker in a Fender Blues Deluxe. It totally transformed the amp, and really opened it up. This speaker is basically a 50 watt greenback clone, but to my ears it seems to be a little more focused on the higher mids. So your Fender amp still sounds like a Fender amp.

Great speaker—my favourite, and cheaper than the others I've bought in the past year (A-Type, Invader 50). Great low end, great mids and top-end without ever being harsh. Never too tame, never too brash. Nice balance. Works with all my vintage combos, clean through dirty. Thoroughly impressed.

I bought four of these for a 4x12 cab. I replaced the stock Eminence/Marshall AX-75's with these. I am very happy with the upgrade, the cab sounds much better and the price was great. Also very fast and free shipping from nextgenguitars.ca. A+
