IMPORTANT REFERENCE - Stranded Wire Types
Tinned, Stranded = Copper conductors that have been coated with tin, and then the tinned strands are twisted together. The strands are NOT bonded together. This is the most commonly used wire in our industry.
A select minority of parts suppliers sell stranded wire that has been fully bonded/coated along its entire length and only label it as "tinned" or "pre-tinned" wire. That is NOT the correct title for that type of wire. If that's what you're looking for, you need to search for "topcoat" wire.
Topcoat = Stranded bare copper wire that has been run through a tin bath, effectively permeating/coating the entire length of the stranded wire. The result is a stranded wire that acts/feels like solid core wire because the strands have been bonded along the entire length of the wire. This was previously less common in our industry, only being used by select manufacturers (Hi-Watt being the most notable). But, it has been growing in popularity in recent years, especially among the guitar wiring crowd.

White Cloth Covered Wire
When they say "tinned", I guess they mean each individual strand. I still needed to tin. My complaint is that stripping the cloth was not simple and required extra time to clean and trim the inner insulation. The other cloth covered wire (black, yellow) seemed to strip easier. *NG Response: "We use the technical definition for 'tinned', as used in the cable/wire industry, and as described in detail in this product description. It sounds like you were looking for 'topcoat' wire. To find the right wire from us or any other supplier, we recommend using the proper search terms along with reading descriptions carefully to ensure you find what you're looking for. As for stripping/cleaning/trimming the wire insulation, it is authentic vintage pushback wire. There is variation between production runs on how tight/loose the covering is. You may have purchased your length from a batch that was on the tighter side."

Used this with some new pots in my bass. It is excellent, high-quality wire, cloth with covering. Doesn't fray easily.
