Switchcraft 3-way Pickup Selector - Short

I've used a few of these switches in different guitar projects over the years, and they're a very well built switch, and do give good longevity & serviceability. However: I ordered one recently, and after completing the guitar rewiring project I was working on, plugged the guitar in to test and... no signal from one of the two pickups. Checked my wiring out with a meter, and sure enough, there was a fault in the switch. Turns out that one of the leaf contacts had been bent, presumably during bulk shipping with other switches (more on that in a sec), and its contact got dinged, causing it to fail to complete the circuit to that contact in either the corresponding or middle switch position. Fortunately, it's possible to strip these down and adjust things, so after ~45 minutes of fiddling around with the contacts, I was able to re-form the proper angle/curvature on the contact, and restore functionality. Annoying and time consuming (hence docking my rating two stars), but less aggravating than having to desolder it and deal with waiting for a replacement. Lesson learned, and word to the wise: bench-test the switch before installing it to save yourself the potential hassle of getting everything soldered in, and THEN discovering that your switch is DOA. I replaced the stock switch in my Epiphone LP when it started to fail after 20+ years of use. The Switchcraft has a much nicer feel to it and is obviously better quality. However, it was a tight fit in the guitar body since I used "vintage" braided shielded wire, so placement of wires was important.

If you have any kind of low-end Asian made instrument, it probably comes with a wonky, scratchy generic toggle switch that randomly cuts out. This bad boy might look expensive for what it is, but the build quality is so much better and it works flawlessly.

Great switch, 2 offshore switches were nfg out of the box, the Switchcraft switch is perfect.

Not much to say about this, it's a solid feeling toggle and doesn't add any noise to the guitar when it's plugged in. Happy I made this upgrade on my epiphone sg
