Product Description
Eminence proudly unveils the Governor-MkII, the rebirth of the brand’s legendary patriarch from the iconic British-voiced Red Coat family. Building on the legacy that made the original Governor a benchmark for classic British tone, the MkII delivers mind-blowing advancements in clarity, control, and feel. We’ve also slightly tamed the SPL which in turn helps tame any mid-spike, so the result is a well balanced driver that delivers that familiar British tone we all love, without the compromise of anything sounding harsh.
Engineered for today’s demanding players, the Governor MkII retains its unmistakable British character while introducing significant refinements that elevate definition, tighten low-end response, and enhance harmonic complexity. It cuts effortlessly through any mix without giving you ear fatigue, and remains articulate at all volumes.
With these next-generation improvements, the Governor MkII confidently claims its place as best-in-class, honoring its heritage while setting a new standard for aggressive, authoritative guitar tone.

Eminence The Governor Speaker
They sound amazing better than I ever could have imagined,I put them in a 2x12 cab fed by a Marshall JCM 2000.

Amazing well rounded full tone
I am using two of these speakers in a Marshall 1936 2x12 with a Peavey 5150. I tried a Celestion vintage 30 like everyone does but a) it lacked low end, b) was gritty and harsh, and c) the speaker distorted way too soon. The Governor is Eminence's version of the vintage 30 but it has a thicker low end and has a smoother mid range that doesn't cause ear fatigue. I play metal with a 6, 7, and even 8 string and it sounds clear and punchy with everything. With the 8 the bass is thick but not muddy. There's no piercing high end either so you can really play with your eq to get a clear sound. For cleans I also find this speaker to be warm and rich with a very singing high end. Overall, I give this a 5/5. Give the speakers some time to burn in a little bit by playing clean at a lower volume with the bass way up to loosen the diaphragm, then make your decision. Personally, I love these.
