MADE IN USA
Used in many combo amps for speaker connections. Also perfect for close quarters pedal-to-pedal connections.
Tech's notes: "These work best with cable that is 5.5mm-6.5mm in diameter, like our 20AWG Pro Instrument Cable. It can work with smaller cable, but you will need to wrap that cable with heatshrink, tape, or something similar for a more snug fit."

Switchcraft 228 plug
The original and still best... the difference between these and the knockoffs? The sleeve never gets loose. Cheaper versions are not well crimped; if you can turn the sleeve against the body of the plug, the next thing will be an intermittent failure nightmare. Don't ask how I discovered this... also, soldering the shield directly to the case (instead of a tab) adds strength, just takes good equipment and technique.

Better than best.
THE proverbial, classic 1/4" mono jack. Needs a high wattage soldering iron for a solid bond.

Switchcraft #228 - 1/4" Mono Right Angle "Pancake" Plug
Great quality, perfect for amplifier speaker cable connection.

Not the easiest to use
Plug does what it should, but soldering connections to it is not as easy as some other plugs. There are no terminals or nodes.

Switchcraft 228 Jacks
Simply the best.

Perfect for my needs
This plug fits perfectly in those tight spots where others fail, only complaint is that you really need to rough up the inside surfaces with sand paper to make the solder bond well.
